Profile
I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Notre Dame Department of Philosophy.
Areas of interest: metaphysics, philosophy of religion, history of metaphysics.
In metaphysics, I am especially interested in how questions of explanation and fundamentality and the Bradleyan problem of relations touch on specific loci of metaphysics.
In philosophy of religion, I am especially interested in the divine attributes, theological predication, and issues surrounding theological compatibilism.
In the history of metaphysics, I am most interested in medieval scholasticism and early modern philosophy (particularly Spinoza). I also have a secondary interest in absolute idealism (both German and British).
General topics important to me include natural theology and arguments for God’s existence, the problem of reconciling philosophical contrasts (e.g. infinity/finitude, eternity/time, good/evil, unity/diversity), and the Agrippan trilemma’s challenge to the possibility of explanation.
